Hi, my name is Pal.
I look like a poodle, but I’m really a Bichon Frise. I live with Ron Roy. He writes children’s books.

I used to live with a woman, but she got sick. Her family put me in a foster home. Then Ron Roy came for a visit, and he took me home with him.

We live in Connecticut, in a yellow house near a woods and pond. Ron and I go hiking around the pond. We see ducks, turtles, and fish. It’s pretty in the woods.

There is a stream where Ron lets me splash. There is a little bridge where we sit and have lunch.

Here’s what we do every day:
  • As soon as we wake up, I go outside. Then I come in and we have breakfast. Then Ron goes into his office to write, and I take a nap on his bed.
  • At noon, we go for a walk by the pond. After that, we have lunch and Ron goes back into his office. I take another nap.
  • In the afternoon, Ron goes into town to do errands. I go with him in the car!
  • Then Ron and I take a nap together.
  • We go for another walk before bedtime.
Sometimes we take vacations together. We go to Ron’s house in Florida when the weather in Connecticut is too cold. One time we stayed in a small cottage on an island! I got to run on the beach and chase birds.

Living with a children’s author is a lot of fun. Sometimes Ron reads me the stories he’s working on. If I beg, he lets me sit on his lap while he types at his computer.

One day, maybe he will teach me to type!
